  • OVERLAND - BEST OF NAMIBIA CODE: WVDL14

Behold the natural beauty of three extraordinary Namibian reserves while traveling through the bush on game drives where you may spot some of the iconic animals that inhabit these protected wonderlands.

    For programs with flights:

Observação especial: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    DAY 1 – 15 jan 2026

After disembarking the ship in Walvis Bay, you will meet the guide on the pier and depart for the Timbila Game Reserve via the small cities of Swakopmund and Omaruru. Tucked away in the Goot River Valley and set into the slope of Osera Mountain, this private reserve provides sanctuary to wildlife and guests alike.

After checking in at Timbila, you will receive an orientation of the tented camp so you can maximize your stay. Later in the afternoon, you will join a scientist-led team for an enlightening animal-tracking tour, where you may spot wildlife ranging from towering giraffes to small steenbok antelopes.

Dinner will be served back at the lodge, where you will overnight.

    DAY 2 – 16 jan 2026

Following a full English breakfast overlooking the vast savannah landscape, you will depart for Etosha Oberland Lodge, just southeast of the Anderson Gate to the Etosha National Park.

After checking into the lodge, you will travel into the national park on a game drive. Etosha is known for its enormous biodiversity. You may spot elephants in the thicker vegetation, endangered black rhinos and lions in the golden grasslands. Nearly 350 species of birds have been identified in Etosha, including ostriches – the world’s largest bird – and the kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird.

Dinner will be served back at Etosha Oberland Lodge, where you will overnight.

    DAY 3 – 17 jan 2026

Following an early wake-up call and breakfast at the lodge, you will head into the savannah on a game drive with a guide. The closer that you come to the vast bare expanse of the Etosha Salt Pan, the more challenging the conditions for the flora and fauna. It is an extraordinary landscape that covers about a quarter of the national park. The guide will describe the massive salt pan in detail while pointing out the highlights.

As this is a full day away from the lodge, lunch will be served in the national park, allowing you time to rest and refresh.

Upon returning to Etosha Oberland Lodge mid-afternoon, you will have the opportunity to relax before dinner and enjoy one last evening at the lodge.

    DAY 4 – 18 jan 2026

After breakfast at the lodge and check out, you will travel into a southerly direction to the Omaanda Lodge in the heart of the Zannier Reserve. The thatched huts at the lodge are inspired by traditional Owambo architecture and offer magnificent views stretching to the distant hills of the Khomas Hochland Plateau.

During your time at the lodge, safaris and excursions will be tailored to suit your passion for adventure and each couple will have their own private guide. The options will be presented upon your arrival. You might track a rhino or a herd of elephants, observe a leopard climbing a jackleberry tree or simply experience the beauty of the savannah as the day unfolds. The choices will be entirely yours.

Dinner will be served at Omaanda Lodge, where you will spend the evening.

    DAY 5 – 19 jan 2026

Today, breakfast will be served on the terrace with views of the savannah, after which you will check out and transfer to the airport for the flight to Johannesburg. You will be met at the airport in Johannesburg and assisted with your connecting flight to Port Elizabeth.

  • OVERLAND - DESERT DUNES & STARRY NIGHTS CODE: WVDL11

Explore the visually stunning desert landscape of the NamibRand Nature Reserve and observe the animals that inhabit it, while spending evenings at Kwessi Dunes in a chalet with a special open-roof star-gazing room.

    DIA 1

Disembark the ship in Walvis Bay, Namibia. You will be met and transferred to the Walvis Bay Airport, where you will board a charter flight to the Kwessi Dunes airstrip.

The flight over the Sossusvlei and Namib desert is an expedition on its own with stunning aerial views. Upon landing at Kwessi Dunes airstrip, collect your luggage and make your way to Kwessi Dunes.

Enjoy a welcome drink upon arrival at the lodge, which occupies a plum location in the NamibRand Nature Reserve, a desert wilderness that is one of the largest private reserves in southern Africa. Your air-conditioned accommodations will be one of only a dozen chalets, each featuring canvas walls, a high thatched roof and a separate star-gazer room that is open to the sky for the ultimate in watching the evening’s celestial show. Other amenities include an en suite bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers and a shaded verandah.

Following lunch and check-in formalities, you will enjoy one of the optional free-of-charge day activities such as quad biking or a nature walk. For an additional charge, you may opt for hot-air ballooning, horseback riding, a scenic helicopter flight, a day trip to the highest dune in the world at Sossuvlei or a spa treatment. Of course, if you simply wish to relax and take in the natural beauty, feel free.

Afternoon tea will be served before you head out on a once-in-a-lifetime scenic drive through the Sossusvlei Desert. The landscape is one of towering earth-toned dunes and jagged mountains that rise above the dry, salt-and-clay pan floor that seems to go on forever.

The scenic drives at Kwessi Dunes are unlike any other you will ever experience. You might not find the Big Five wandering around the harsh desert of the NamibRand, but you will find yourself immersed in a world of rugged and rocky terrain, mauve mountains, red dunes and enormous swathes of desert. Nothing can quite prepare you for seeing it in person.

The space is humbling, and the sense of peace is spiritual. The fairy circles that dot the ground are particularly intriguing. Over the years, the theories behind them have been hotly debated, however no one really knows for certain why they are there. Just another reason to visit this extraordinary place.

The dunes are home to a variety of wildlife that has adapted in many fascinating ways to survive the harsh terrain. You will most likely find gemsbok, springbok, kudu and steenbok, often silhouetted against the red sand. You may also spot Burchell’s zebra amid the dunes as well as the more unusual black-backed jackals, aardwolves and African wild cats, which can be surprisingly easy to find compared to those in other reserves on the continent. Leopards and cheetah are rare but there are small numbers of both.

Back at the lodge, you will have time to freshen up before dinner. The sky should then be ideal for star-gazing in your private outdoor sky bed. Thanks to the lodge’s remote location, there is very little light pollution so the skies are typically crystal clear. In fact, the NamibRand is Africa’s first designated International Dark Sky Reserve because it is one of the least light-polluted places in the world.

    DIA 2

Wake up to the gorgeous Namib desert air and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee before embarking on the ultimate 4x4 scenic desert drive. Afterwards, you will have time to freshen up and enjoy lunch before spending the afternoon at leisure, exploring the lodge surroundings and perhaps taking advantage of an additional optional activity.

Later, you will embark on an evening scenic drive and experience a whole new side of this desert oasis as the sun begins to set. Upon returning to the lodge, you will have time to freshen up before dinner.

    DIA 3

Depending on departure flight time, you may be able to embark on one last morning activity followed by breakfast and check-out formalities.

Then, make your way to the airstrip and board your charter flight to Windhoek.

On arrival at Windhoek’s airport, you will be met and assisted to connect onto an international scheduled flight to Cape Town, South Africa.

Once you have collected your luggage and gone through Customs there, you will be met at the arrival hall at the Cape Town International Airport by your guide, who will show you to your transport. You will then transfer to the Cape Town harbor to meet your ship.

  • OVERLAND - DESERT DISCOVERIES CODE: WVDL06

Explore the hauntingly beautiful Namib Desert with a variety of options to choose from including but not limited to game drives into the wilderness, climbing sand dunes, quad biking and nature walks while luxuriating at the exquisite Little Kulala Lodge between experiences.

Nota: This program is limited to 6 guests.

    DAY 1 - 25 fev 2022

Upon disembarking in Walvis Bay, Namibia, you will be met by a local English-speaking representative and transferred to the Walvis Bay Airport for a light aircraft charter flight to Little Kulala.

Upon landing at the Geluk airstrip, you will transfer with a local lodge representative to Little Kulala.

Little Kulala hosts guests in luxurious, air-conditioned thatched units, each with en–suite bathroom and outdoor shower, wrap-around veranda, private plunge pool and rooftop ‘sky-bed’ for gazing at and sleeping under the stars. The lodge overlooks a water hole in the desert, drawing in game such as gemsbok (oryx), bat-eared fox, jackal, springbok and ostrich.

The extensive use of neutral colors, gorgeous textures and natural light reproduce the soothing pastel tones of the desert. Pure linens, cottons and mohair dyed with natural vegetable dyes all make for a very organic camp, which takes its inspiration from its surroundings, notably from the magnificent Deadvlei.

The welcoming main area has a lounge, library, dining room, extensive outside dining deck, bar, wine cellar and curio shop, all under thatch; with an inviting communal pool area and sundeck for relaxing afternoons.

After checking into Little Kulala, you will enjoy afternoon tea.

Later in the day embark on a sundowner drive into the Kulala Wilderness Reserve. The experience will offer the opportunity to view extraordinary desert wildlife such as gemsbok and to enjoy a drink while watching the sun set over the mountains.

Back at the lodge, you will have time to freshen up before dinner.

    DAY 2 - 26 fev 2022

This morning you will rise early for a magical excursion with your lodge guide into the Namib Naukluft National Park, entering the park gates at sunrise to capture the dunes whilst the light is soft and shadows accentuate their towering shapes and curves. This area boasts some of the highest free-standing sand dunes in the world. Your local guide will give you an insight on the formation of the Namib Desert and its myriad of fascinating creatures and plants that have adapted to survive these harsh environs.

Once you have explored the dune fields to your heart’s content you will be treated to a hearty buffet brunch on the dunes or in the shade of a camel thorn tree.

You return to the lodge in the early afternoon for a late lunch, stopping off to view Sesriem Canyon along the way.

The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure (from experience, this is usually welcomed after an exhilarating morning in the dunes) or you may like to join another guided excursion on the NamibRand Nature Reserve.

Options will be made available by the lodge staff when you are on site but might include:

Driving by 4x4 vehicle to Sossusvlei, an enormous salt and clay pan surrounded by towering red sand dunes. Most of the year, Sossusvlei—which means “dead-end marsh”—is bone dry. However, it’s not devoid of plants and animals. The flora and fauna have adapted to the extreme conditions. They include ostriches, springboks, aardwolves and camel thorn trees, whose lengthy roots tap into the water system that lies deep underground. Many of the desert animals eat the yellow fruit of Nara Melons, a plant endemic to Sossusvlei. Your guide will likely point out Welwitschia, a plant often called a living fossil as they are thousands of years old and survive by extracting water from the air.

Another, famous for its gnarled and ghostly camel thorn trees, is Deadvlei which can be reached on foot over 1km of sand. Deadvlei’s striking camel thorn trees; dead for want of water, still stand erect as they once grew. They survived until about 900 years ago when the sand sea finally blocked the river from occasionally flooding the pan.

Return for dinner followed by the opportunity to star gaze with your guides.

    DAY 3 - 27 fev 2022

After breakfast and check out a transfer will take you to the airstrip for a flight to Cape Town via Walvis Bay. Upon arrival, a local English-speaking representative will accompany you to the port where you will re-embark the ship.

    Clima provável

October – April - Average temperatures range from 20°C to 35°C during the day and temperatures above 40°C are often recorded in the extreme north and south of the country. At the coast the temperature is generally much cooler, ranging from 15°C to 25°C, and fog is common.

Rainfall – Early rains may occur from October onwards and the main rainy season falls between January and April. During this time flash floods are common.

    Acessibilidade

Please note that due to the nature of the wild and adventurous setting, the camp is unable to support wheelchair access given the uneven terrain and raised decks. For individuals with difficulty in walking there are rooms closer to the main lodge areas, for ease and comfort. These must be requested in advance and are subject to availability.

    O que trazer

Comfortable cotton clothing (neutral colors are best) and your favorite walking sneakers are pretty much all you need to bring along with your daily preferred toiletries. You will be provided with organic, environmentally-friendly body soaps and lotions in all the suites at Little Kulala. Given the ease of daily complimentary laundry service at the camp you do not need to pack much: the settings are very casual and informal and guests are encouraged to dress comfortably for the season and adventure ahead. You may also want to bring swimwear, a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, camera, chargers, and anti-malaria prophylaxis. Safari trousers and warm fleece tops may be required for evenings and cooler days.

    Moeda

Namibian dollars and South African Rand are equal in value and accepted as legal tender anywhere in Namibia. Other currencies such as U.S. dollars are not so widely accepted. When departing Namibia, it’s best to exchange Namibian dollars beforehand, as they aren’t as easily exchanged as South African Rand outside of Namibia. Most foreign hard currencies can be exchanged at bureaus de change and banks.

    Eletricidade

A combination of solar and generator power.

It’s always best if you bring electric devices, take along an international converter kit complete with a set of adapter plugs. Electrical sockets in Namibia are Type M (SABS-1661). If your appliance's plug doesn't match the shape of these sockets, you will need a travel plug adapter in order to plug in. Electrical sockets in Namibia usually supply electricity at 230 volts AC / 50 Hz frequency. • OVERLAND - FLY IN SAFARI: DESERT HILLS LODGE CODE: WVDL08

Travel to Desert Hills Lodge where you will wake up each day in the splendor of the oldest desert in the world, boasting some of the world’s highest sand dunes. The lodge overlooks vast savannah plains and offers guests incredible views, sunsets and stargazing. Visit the Dead Vlei, walk amongst the dunes, enjoy a sunset game drive and savor delicious Namibian cuisine during this incredible 3-day journey.

Observação especial: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    DIA 1

You are welcomed at the pier in Walvis Bay and transferred to the Walvis Bay Airport, where your chartered light aircraft and pilot await. The flight heads south over Sossusvlei to Sesriem, to the Desert Hills Lodge in the south of Namibia.

NOTA: Luggage is limited to 15kg / 33 lbs per person in a soft bag (based on an average body weight of 80kg / 176 lbs per person).

Gracefully perched on a natural stone outcrop, Desert Hills Lodge offers guests spectacular views of the desert below and the dramatic Namib sunset.

Once you have checked in and are feeling refreshed, a leisurely lunch is served. In the afternoon you can relax at the cool swimming pool, enjoy a drink at the bar or observe vast stretches of undisturbed nature from the main verandah, or your private chalet’s shaded verandah. There are numerous species of animals, birds, reptiles and all other critters you can encounter and marvel at.

Before dinner enjoy a sunset drive in the desert in search of plains willife such as oryx, hyena, black-backed jackal, springbok and zebra. Along the way enjoy the ever-changing colors over the undulating dunes in the distance. Return to the lodge after the sundowner and enjoy a delicious dinner in this amazing setting before falling asleep below a million stars in the night sky!

    DIA 2

Arise in the fresh cool pre-dawn air of the desert morning and board your excursion vehicle to Sossusvlei – a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes, located in the southern part of the Namib Desert. The dunes are vivid pink-to-orange in color with the oldest dunes being more of a deep red color.

Watch the shadowed landscape develop shapes and colours as the sun rises overhead, while you marvel at or even climb the famous dunes of Sossusvlei. The more energetic can undertake a 2,2 km walk over gently undulating dunes to see the barren, fascinating Dead Vlei before returning to the vehicle, where a picnic brunch is enjoyed. The Deadvlei or “dead marsh” is a large clay pan characterized by dark, dead camel thorn trees contrasted against the white pan floor, surrounded by the huge rusty red dunes. The contrast between the black trees, white pans, rusty-red dunes, and deep blue sky makes for some incredible image taking.

Nota: Due to the size of the charter plane, this program is limited to 4 guests.

    DIA 1

Activities include guided 4x4 excursions into Sossusvlei and Deadvlei through a private gate into the Namib Naukluft Park, quad-biking, birding, guided nature walks, and scenic afternoon sundowner drives on the 37,000ha private Kulala Wilderness Reserve.

After checking into Little Kulala, you will enjoy afternoon tea. Later in the day, you will take an excursion to Sesriem, a deep canyon that an ancient river carved out of the stone. The guide will describe the distinct geological layers and how they were formed.

A sundowner drive into the Kulala Wilderness Reserve follows. The experience will offer the opportunity to view extraordinary desert wildlife such as gemsbok and to enjoy a drink while watching the sun set over the mountains.

Back at the lodge, you will have time to freshen up before dinner.

    DIA 2

After an early-morning wake-up call, you will ride in a 4x4 vehicle to Sossusvlei, an enormous salt and clay pan surrounded by towering red sand dunes.

The guide will likely point out Welwitschia, a plant often called a living fossil as they are thousands of years old and survive by extracting water from the air.

You will also have the chance to climb Big Daddy, the tallest dune in Sossusvlei. Although reaching the top isn’t mandatory, if you do, you will enjoy sweeping views of Deadvlei, another photogenic clay pan.

Following breakfast at Sossusvlei, you will return to the lodge and check out. A transfer will take you to the airstrip for the return flight to Walvis Bay. Upon arrival, a local English-speaking representative will accompany you to the cruise ship.

  • OVERLAND- SHAMWARI SAFARI: BAYETHE LODGE WVD-PTE CODE: WVDL05

Venture into the pristine bush of the Shamwari Game Reserve on up to four game drives, during which you may see the legendary Big Five and other iconic African animals roaming freely in their natural habitat.

Observação especial: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    Dia 1

Upon disembarkation in Walvis Bay, transfer by road to Walvis Bay Airport to check-in and board a regional flight to Johannesburg.

Upon afternoon arrival at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your overnight hotel – Fairlawns Boutique Hotel & Spa.

Before Fairlawns became a boutique hotel in 1997, it was originally a ten-acre family home, owned by the Brenthurst Trust of Oppenheimer fame, sporting stables, a training rink, a cow (just one), geese, dogs, and two teenage children. Over time parcels of the land were sold to developers and once the family was left with only three remaining acres and the original homestead, Mr. Thacker decided to realize his dream of having a ‘country hotel’ – albeit in the heart of Sandton, the new Central Business District of Johannesburg.

The original accommodation block comprised 12 suites but now commands 41 opulent suites, all of which are uniquely decorated to the highest standard. Mostly euro-centric in their decorating, the suites include high ceilings, elaborate cornicing, tall doors and sumptuous fabrics.

Check-in on arrival and enjoy your suit and surroundings prior to a delicious group dinner at the hotel.

    Dia 2

After breakfast, check out and return to Johannesburg’s airport for a flight to Port Elizabeth where on arrival you will be met by an English-speaking representative who will accompany you on a road transfer to the Shamwari Game Reserve. Drive time is approximately 1.5 hours to the reserve.

Shamwari is the southernmost, malaria free big game private reserve in Africa. This 25.000 hectare reserve is steeped in settler history, and dates back to a time when game roamed freely in the Eastern Cape. Shamwari is all about conserving a vanishing way of life and has been awarded a number of International awards for its efforts in conservation coupled with tourism. In keeping with its conservation policy, Shamwari has a complete wildlife research team as well as its own anti-poaching unit, ensuring an ecological balance prevails on this reclaimed piece of wilderness.

Upon arriving at the reserve, check-in at Bayethe Tented Camp whose name comes from the African greeting, pronounced “By-ye-ti”. The English translation for this word is “I salute you” and is one of the warmest welcomes in the African culture in this area of the country. This tented paradise offers guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in utter tranquility, surrounded by the rich vegetation of this unique location that provides privacy and a feeling of seclusion with spectacular views of the African bush.

Your luxury tent has an indoor bath and either an indoor or outdoor shower. All suites have their own plunge pool and private minibar.

After check-in, enjoy lunch followed by free time at your lodge. Later, enjoy a high tea before embarking on your first game drive.

Late afternoon is one of the prime times to view wildlife, as it is cooler and the animals are more active. While there is no telling what you will observe, the reserve is home to countless animals, including the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard, rhinoceros and Cape buffalo.

Following the game drive, return to the lodge where dinner will be served, allowing you to discuss your evening’s adventures over some South African cuisine and a glass of wine.

    Dia 3

Nesta manhã, você será acordado antes do amanhecer. Meet at the lodge for hot beverages, before departing with the rising sun on an early morning game drive. For comfort, it’s always advisable to bring warm clothing, even in the mid-summer, which in South Africa is this time of the year.

Head into the bush in an open-sided 4x4 vehicle, accompanied by knowledgeable rangers and trackers who are skilled at pointing out the various animals.

The reserve sprawls over 60,000 acres of reclaimed Eastern Cape terrain that supports a huge variety of wildlife. You may catch sight of zebras grazing in the grassland, massive hippos wallowing in the mud flats, or herds of antelopes gracefully bounding across the fields. Giraffes often come right up to the vehicles out of curiosity. If you are a bird-lover, you will delight in the chance to see raptors, water birds and unusual ant-eating chats probing the termite mounds. Of course, the Big Five always command attention and they are abundant.

Upon your return, breakfast will be served at the lodge followed by some free time and then lunch.

In the late afternoon you will re-group for afternoon tea followed by your open-vehicle game drive.

Enjoy drinks and snacks in the bush at sundown before returning to the lodge for dinner.

    Dia 4

This morning, enjoy one last game drive and then return to the lodge for breakfast before packing your belongings and checking out.

You will be met at the lodge and transferred by road to the port of Port Elizabeth where you will re-join the ship.

Observação especial: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    DIA 1

Upon your arrival at the Walvis Bay pier, the Namibia team will accompany you to the Walvis Bay Airport, where a private charter aircraft awaits the group. You will fly north to the spectacular Mokuti Etosha lodge on the southern border of Namibia’s Etosha National Park.

The contemporary lodge is a private oasis, where you will enjoy the comfort of a spacious room with a private patio. Banded mongooses, antelopes and numerous birds can often be observed from the patio.

Follow check-in and lunch, you will have time to relax and settle in before embarking on a game drive in an open safari vehicle with a professional guide through Etosha National Park. Wildlife sighting are almost guaranteed as Africa’s most iconic creatures congregate around the waterholes along the massive salt pan.

Large animals such as elephants, lions, giraffes, wildebeests and various species of antelope are commonly spotted. Etosha is also one of the best places in the world to see endangered black rhinoceroses in the wild. Herds of springbok and zebra cover the plains and smaller animals such as jackals, warthogs and honey badger roam seemingly everywhere.

Later in the evening, dinner will be served in the lodge’s dining hall or around the boma.

    DIA 2

After breakfast at the lodge, you will travel into the Etosha National Park for an early-morning game drive. The sights will likely be completely different than what you observed the day before, especially around the watering holes, where the animals frequently gather.

Late in the morning, you will return to the lodge for lunch and to enjoy the generous amenities. You might play tennis and billiards, work out in the gym, swim in the pool and take advantage of an included treatment at the Omulio Spa.

Toward mid-afternoon, you will head back into the bush on another game drive. It can be a magical time as the temperatures will be cooler, which encourages the animals to emerge from the shelter they sought during the mid-day heat.

Back at the lodge, you might enjoy a luxuriating spa treatment if you haven’t already and perhaps a drink before dinner while you watch a fiery sunset.

    DIA 3

Following a breakfast buffet in the dining room or on the terrace, you will transfer to the airstrip for a light aircraft flight to Hosea Kutako International Airport just outside Windhoek. Along the way, you will gaze out over the gorgeous landscape of Central Namibia.
