The Walled City of Concarneau Shore Excursion in Lorient, France
The town of Concarneau is comprised of two distinctly different sections—the modern area situated on the mainland and the medieval Ville Close resting on an island in the center of the harbor. This lovely half-day excursion focuses on the well-preserved, walled old town of Concarneau.
Upon arrival, you’ll embark on a guided walking tour highlighting many of the historical sites of Ville Close. Strolling along ancient streets, you’ll see for yourself why this exquisite section of the city is one of the most photographed in Brittany. Following the guided tour, you will have the opportunity to further explore on your own.
Observe: This tour includes approximately 1 1/4 hours of moderate walking, much of it over cobblestone and uneven surfaces. There are also a few steps to negotiate. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not considered suitable for those with mobility concerns. Weather appropriate clothing, flat, comfortable walking shoes, a hat, and sunglasses are recommended. The order of the sites viewed or visited may vary.
