Jerez de la Frontera – The Home of Sherry Shore Excursion in Seville, Spain
Jerez’s indescribable wine and sherry have been created here for almost three millennia, ever since the Phoenicians arrived in the 7th century BC with their vines and wine-making skills. This unforgettable excursion commences with a stroll through the old quarter to view the elegant Church of San Dionisio with its beautiful ceiling and baptismal chapel.
Then it’s off to one of the city's 36 bodegas, or cellars, devoted to making and selling sherry. You'll see how the wine is classified and the method used to blend old wine and new. This tour is topped off with a tasting.
Observe: Guests are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, as this tour includes approximately 1.5 hours of walking and/or standing in the wine cellar.
