Land Programs & Hotels

  • Discover the joys of rural life in the gorgeous countryside on the outskirts of Auckland and on idyllic Waiheke Island by visiting a vineyard and meeting with artisans who find the setting inspirational.

Note: Due to varying terrain, this program is not suited for guests with walking difficulties or those who rely on use of a wheelchair or scooter.

    DAY 1

On arrival in Auckland, you will be met and transferred your hotel where you will spend the next three evenings. Check in is 3:00pm. Although the hotel will do everything possible to have your room ready prior to that time, it cannot be guaranteed.

The remainder of the day will be at your leisure, although cocktails will be served at 5pm. It will be an excellent opportunity to meet your fellow travelers in a casual setting.

Dinner will be on your own this evening.

    DAY 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, meet your guide and transfer to the ferry terminal where you will take the ferry to Waiheke Island. Along the way, the guide will provide an orientation of Hauraki Gulf, which includes such scenic highlights as Devonport, Rangitoto Island, Browns Island and the Auckland skyline.

Upon arriving at Waiheke Island, you will be greeted by a local guide and commence on a private tour of Waiheke Island. On the way you’ll see stunning scenery around every corner, and you’ll be entertained by your guides commentary on the history, geography, culture, people and produce of Waiheke. Visit the spectacular Church Bay Studio of Gabriella Lewenz, who works in vivid abstract oils, followed by a visit at the Waiheke Community Art Gallery which displays works by local and national artists, bringing the best of New Zealand art to the island and offering the best of Waiheke art to the world.

Drive along the scenic northern route, taking in spectacular views of the Hauraki Gulf and beyond to the Coromandel Peninsula to your lunch and wine tasting at Stonyridge Vineyard (or similar). This is a relaxing location, nestled amongst the shimmering valley of olive trees, colourful vines, and aromas of the South of France. Their menu has been created with an emphasis on fresh produce, offering a range of seasonal dishes from platters to a la carte dining.

Then onto another local vineyard for wine tasting and Oysters, learn about how the local Te Matuku Bay Oysters are uniquely farmed in a marine reserve down the remote Eastern End of Waiheke Island before heading back to the wharf for the return ferry back to Auckland.

The remainder of the day will be at your leisure, allowing you time to further relax and do whatever you please.

    DAY 3

Following breakfast at the hotel, you will depart for a brief sightseeing tour of the city which will include a drive along the waterfront. A stop will be made at Bastion Point for views over the harbor before continuing through the eastern residential suburbs. Also see the Auckland Domain, the Auckland Museum (no visit), and Parnell Village. Then head to the countryside on the outskirts of Auckland. The land here is some of the country’s most fertile, making it ideal for growing fruits and vegetables and raising stock.

As you travel from place to place, visiting a farm and stopping for a cheese tasting, your guide will pick up ingredients for your lunch at Vineyard Cottages.

Once you arrive at the venue, owner Elle Armon-Jones will lead you on a tour of the vineyard and vegetable garden. Afterwards, you will be free to relax on the verandah as lunch is prepared or you might join in the preparation.

As lunch is cooking, Elle will present a tasting of olive oil and stone-oven baked breads. The experience will add yet another dimension to your grasp of the nuances of the cuisine. A selection of local beers and wines will be thoughtfully paired with the two courses to enhance the experience.

Back in Auckland, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure with dinner on your own.

    Day 4

Following breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will begin a scenic driving tour of Auckland’s waterfront, with a stop for photos of the harbor from Bastion Point. You will also drive through residential neighborhoods in the eastern part of the city and through Parnell Village before arriving at the pier to embark the cruise ship.

Land Program Details Step by Step

•The order of sites visited may vary to avoid congestion. Program times are approximate, given here for general reference purposes and subject to change.

•Itineraries with the up-to-date details will be issued when you are emailed your final cruise documents 21 days prior to sailing. You will then receive a final itinerary from our ground operator with a Welcome Letter upon arrival or at your hotel. Please review the letter and your final itinerary carefully for further amendments.

•The hotels used for your land program will be the hotels listed in this document unless you have been advised otherwise in advance of the land program start date.

•Guests failing to arrive on Day 1 of a scheduled land program will be considered a no-show and their hotel space released.

    Extra Nights

•If you book extra nights through the cruise line, you will be met as per the flight details provided and transferred to your hotel. Check-in is 3:00pm (subject to change). Meals other than breakfast, as well as activities, are on your own until day 2 of the program.

•If you have an early-arriving flight, you may wish to book an extra night as your room will not be ready for occupation until approximately 3:00pm.

•If you book extra nights on your own, transfers are not included.

Be aware that the representative may be assisting others and may not be in sight when you first exit Customs and the luggage claim area.

•Look for someone holding a sign with the cruise line logo and possibly your name. If in doubt, ask the airport staff to direct you to the meeting area for transfers or to page our representative.

•Meet and Greet and transfers are arranged for guests arriving on Day 1 of a land program or for extra nights booked through the cruise line and are arranged based on the flight details received by guests at least 14 days before sailing. Guests arriving independently before the program start date will not have a transfer included.

•If we have not received your flight details or your flights have changed, and the Destination Services Land Team has not been notified, then a transfer cannot be provided, and guests will be responsible for getting to the land program hotel at their own expense. Expected Weather

New Zealand's seasons are the reverse of those in the Northern Hemisphere. This means that the warmest months are December, January and February, while the coldest are June, July and August. The average March high temperatures are in the high 60s F (around 19-21° C) – this is the first month of autumn in New Zealand.

    What to Bring

As it will be summer light clothing is suggested. However, as the weather can be changeable is recommended that a rain proof jacket be carried. Sunscreen is considered essential.

Dress is informal and relaxed on this program. Smart casual clothes are acceptable at most restaurants and night spots. Men are generally not expected to wear suits and ties, except in a few of the top formal bars and restaurants in major cities.

    Currency

U.S. dollars are generally accepted only in establishments such as souvenir stores; however, credit cards are widely accepted.

  • Experience the diversity of New Zealand’s North Island with Auckland and its spectacular harbor location as your base. In contrast to the gentile white sand beaches of the city suburbs, visit the rugged west coast of Auckland where the Tasman Sea pounds the black sand beaches. Visit a vineyard and travel to the fertile countryside south of Auckland to experience the glowworm caves at Waitomo and enjoy a farm to table lunch at a private homestead.

Note: Due to varying terrain, this program is not suited for guests with walking difficulties or those who rely on use of a wheelchair or scooter.

Operational note: due to cyclone damage done in 2023, the much-loved Maukatia Gannet Track and access to the Takapu Refuge / Gannet Colony at Otakamiro Point are still closed for remedial work. Should access be re-opened when our groups are visiting New Zealand, all efforts will be made to re-include this stop in the program.

    DAY 1

Upon arrival at the Auckland Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is at leisure and dinner is on your own. Transfer time is approximately 45 minutes.

Check in is at 3:00pm. If you have an early arriving flight, you may wish to book an extra night so that your room is available upon arrival.

    DAY 2

After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, depart from the hotel, for a brief sightseeing tour of the city which will include a drive along the waterfront. A stop will be made at Bastion Point for views over the harbor before continuing through the eastern residential suburbs. Also see the Auckland Domain, the Auckland Museum (no visit), and Parnell Village. Then head to the farming and wine-growing areas of West Auckland - Kumeu and Huapai - to Muriwai Beach on the rugged west coast. A stop is made on the cliff tops overlooking the beach. From here there is a walk of approximately 250 meters, through native plants to the glorious black sand.

From Muriwai, travel through rural farming districts to a local winery for lunch and a tasting. West Auckland is the Cities original wine region that boasts a range of wineries to tantalize your taste buds. You will be introduced to a delicious range of artisan cheeses, honey from the vineyard, local olive oil and stone-ground sourdough bread before a delicious BBQ. There is an opportunity to meet locals and enjoy a range of locally made gifts and produce.

On leaving the winery, return to Auckland city by way of the farming areas of Waitoki and Dairy Flat to join the northern motorway at Albany. Continue into the city across the Auckland Harbor Bridge and through the downtown shopping area.

Arrive back at your hotel in Auckland. Dinner is on your own.

    DAY 3

Today's tour will begin with a drive through the city's central business district before departing from the city and travelling along the southern motorway past the city's southern suburbs and over the Bombay Hills. Descend into the Waikato River Valley and follow the course of the river through the fertile farmlands of the region to the coal-mining town of Huntly. Continue south past Taupiri (the mountain is sacred to the Maori people) and the town of Ngaruawahia, the seat of the Maori King.

Undertake a guided tour of the world-famous Waitomo Glow-worm Caves, a true geological phenomenon of nature. Unique to New Zealand, these tiny creatures radiate a fluorescent blue-green glow that illuminates the caves and underground streams the glow-worms call home. The largest chamber of the cave is known as the "Cathedral," an acoustically perfect auditorium that has hosted a number of renowned performing artists drawn to the area for the purity of sound it produces. As you embark on a short cruise in an open boat through the limestone formations, your guide will share information, legends, and facts about this fascinating and beautiful oddity of nature.

You will have lunch at a private homestead where your hosts have been farming for many years and love to share their lovely French provincial home and gardens with you. Lunch is a delight, and all food is made on the premises, including many chutneys and sauces, from the fruit trees on the property. All meat is organic and comes from local farms.

After lunch, return through the pastoral Waikato region to Auckland. Back in Auckland and your hotel, the

remainder of the evening is at your leisure with dinner on your own.

    NOTE:

•Bring comfortable walking shoes and a warm jacket for the visit to the caves.

    DAY 1 - June 4, 2025

Disembark in Cape Town, meet your guide and transfer to your city-based hotel. En-route you will have an orientation tour. Check in is at 2:00pm and although every effort will be made to have rooms available before this time, this cannot be guaranteed. Luggage storage will be available should you wish to head into the city to explore on your own.

Your hotel is located in the bustling Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where you will find a wide array of shopping and dining options. Lunch and dinner are on your own today.

    DAY 2 - June 5, 2025

After breakfast and check out, transfer to the Cape Town airport for a flight to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

As guests may only bring one piece of checked luggage per person, excess luggage (1 piece per person) will be shipped via courier to Johannesburg where you will be re-united with it on Day 5. Make sure to pack accordingly and bring any medications and cruise documents with you.

Upon arriving in Victoria Falls, proceed through Customs and Immigration. You will then be met and transferred to the Victoria Falls Hotel. Note: Visas are required for Zimbabwe and can be purchased at the airport upon arrival.

After check-in, transfer to the Zambezi River and embark on a sunset cruise (shared departure). Depending on the size of the group the boat may either be a covered single level sightseeing boat or a larger boat with multiple levels. Enjoy a beverage from this vantage point whilst watching the sunset and possibly sighting hippos, crocodiles, various birdlife and maybe even an elephant or two along the banks of the river.

Your boat cruise is followed up with dinner back at the hotel.

    DAY 3 – June 6, 2025

After breakfast and check out, transfer to the Victoria Falls Rainforest where you will have a guided walk.

Located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, Victoria Falls is the world’s largest curtain of falling water, based on the falls’ one-mile width and height of 360 feet. It’s an amazing spectacle to watch as the Zambezi River roars over the edge of a basalt gorge, forming what locals call Mosi-Oa-Tunya or “the smoke that thunders”. In November 1885, after seeing the falls for the first time, Scottish explorer and Doctor David Livingstone re-named them after Queen Victoria.

A path along the edge of the rainforest provides visitors with an unparalleled series of views of the falls but be prepared to get wet from the tremendous spray!

NOTE: the cobblestone walkways within the rainforest can be slippery if wet and some spots are at a gradient. Proper walking shoes that have a good grip should be worn, and guests should wear appropriate clothing to get wet. Due to the amount of walking and terrain, this program is not suited for guests who have walking difficulty or who utilize a wheelchair or scooter. Walking distance will be 2-4km (1.24 – 2.48 miles).

Continue by road across the Zimbabwe – Botswana border to Chobe Game Lodge.

Chobe Game Lodge is a haven of peace and tranquillity inside the Chobe National Park. A quiet spot on one of the many expansive viewing decks, the private jetty or comfortable lounge on the boardwalk is never far away. Each offers a different perspective on the unique wilderness that surrounds the lodge.

Every one of the elegantly designed guest rooms is air-conditioned, with en-suite bathrooms and a large terrace facing the Chobe River.

Check in, enjoy lunch at the lodge and then some free time to get acquainted with your surroundings.

A bit later in the day, gather in the main lodge for tea and snacks followed by a game drive in Chobe National Park. Safaris are conducted in 4x4 open side vehicles and led by qualified professional guides who will bring you close to hippos, buffalos, puku and other animals that gather on the banks of the Chobe River. Naturally, elephants, lion and leopard are also found in the area.

Return to your lodge thereafter for dinner and overnight.

    DAY 4 – June 7, 2025

After an early-morning wake-up call and coffee and tea in the lobby, you will embark on a morning game drive in 4x4 open-air safari vehicles.

Along with elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo, Chobe is also home to two antelope that aren’t encountered anywhere else in Botswana, the puku and the Chobe bushbuck. Declared a national park in 1967, Chobe was the first one established in Botswana and now covers more than 4,500 square miles of dry savannah, floodplains, and teak woodlands that are ideal animal habitats.

Returning from your morning safari, a full breakfast will be served after which you will have free time to do as you wish at the lodge.

Following lunch, you will embark on a cruise down the Chobe River – this is the ideal time to keep a look out for animals coming to the river for water.

Later dinner will be served at the lodge.

    DAY 5 – June 8, 2025

After enjoying one last optional game drive and breakfast, check-out from the lodge and transfer to the Kasane Airport for a flight to Johannesburg.

Upon arrival at Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International Airport, you will be met and assisted through passport control and baggage claim. You will then be escorted your hotel where you will spend the remainder of the day at leisure. Your hotel is located within walking distance of the terminal.

You will be reunited with any luggage that was shipped from Cape Town.

Lunch and dinner are on your own today.

    DAY 6 – June 9, 2025

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Check out time is 11:00am. You will be assisted on the walk to the Johannesburg Airport terminal based on your flight schedule. • Observe iconic African wildlife in Aquila Game Reserve, enjoy breathtaking views of Cape Town from atop Table Mountain and spend another day exploring the city on your own – all immensely fulfilling experiences.

    DAY 1 – June 4,2025

Disembark in Cape Town and meet your tour guide for a tour and transfer to your hotel. En-route, visit Table Mountain, the city’s most celebrated landmark!

Travel up Kloof Nek, the saddle between Table Mountain and Lions Head, to the lower cableway station. Ascend from the Valley Station (363 m) to the Mountain Station (1 060 m) in a Swiss engineered Rotair cable car. The journey from the base to the summit takes just under 4 minutes and one can enjoy spectacular views, as the floor of the car rotates 360 degrees during the ascent and descent.

Table Mountain gets her name from the flat-topped central massif of the mountain, which, viewed from the city, is surrounded by Devil’s Peak on the left, Lion’s Head on the right and Signal Hill in the foreground. They form a sort of amphitheater that encloses the city center and some of the older suburbs. Other earlier suburbs are on either side of the chain of mountains, which run like a spine through the Cape Peninsula, from Table Mountain to Cape Point – the cape from which Cape Town gets its name.

From the summit, the natural protected area stretching from Signal Hill to Cape Point has been managed under the custodianship of the National Parks Board. This area has one of the highest concentrations of endemic plant and animal species in any area of its size, containing a staggering 2 285 plant species – more than the entire U.K.

Upon descent, re-board your vehicle and transfer to your hotel. Check-in on arrival (official check-in time is 2:00pm). Although every effort will be made to have rooms available before this time this cannot be guaranteed.

Spend the afternoon at leisure. Consider a stroll to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where shops, restaurants and entertainment are plenty. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

Note: the cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain is weather dependent. If not possible due to high winds a stop will be made at a viewing area near the cable car base for photos.

    DAY 2 - June 5, 2025

Following an early breakfast at your hotel, depart on a 2.5-hour road transfer to Aquila Game Reserve or similar. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a 4 x 4 game drive, with an experienced nature guide. Thereafter, sit down to a delicious buffet lunch including two local beverages. After some free time to browse through the well-stocked curio shop, depart for a return transfer to Cape Town.

The remainder of the day will be at your leisure and dinner is on your own.

    DAY 3 – June 6, 2025

Spend today at leisure, exploring the beautiful ‘Mother City’ at your own pace. Consider a ferry trip to Robben Island (individually made pre-bookings are essential via the Robben Island Ferry website), an open Red Top bus trip to numerous destinations, a hike up Lion’s Head, Wine tasting in the Winelands, or simply visiting numerous attractive beaches such as Camps Bay, Blouberg Beach or similar.

Make sure you are hungry for dinner as this evening you will join the group again for an African themed Farewell Dinner at GOLD Restaurant which includes an immersive 14-dish “taste-safari” and optional inter-active drumming. The tasting menu is designed to be enjoyed in a shared style and throughout the meal you will be learn about the country of origin, cooking techniques and spicing of each dish. (All meat, poultry and fish dishes come with vegan or vegetarian options). No doubt you will be swept up in the excitement as African stories are told through live entertainment while you dine including singing, puppetry and dancing to the beat of the djembe drums.

Following this lively dinner experience, you will be returned to your hotel.

    DAY 4 – June 7, 2025

Upon arrival, ride the funicular railway or walk to the top of Cape Point to take in the breathtaking views and photo opportunities.

Next, make a stop to visit the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. This is followed by a drive through the naval base of Simon’s Town to Fish Hoek. From here, you will continue on to the colourful fishing harbour of Kalk Bay before turning on to Boyes Drive, which offers magnificent views of Muizenberg and False Bay.

Your drive will conclude passing by the University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial, Mostert's Mill and famous Groote Schuur Hospital before reaching your hotel which is located close to the popular Victoria and Alfred Waterfront – home to numerous shops, restaurants and plenty of entertainment. • One of the best-known structures in the world, Agra’s fabled Taj Mahal will awe your senses and forever capture your heart. Considered to be the finest example of Mughal architecture, the Taj Mahal is a glistening mass of white marble and semi-precious stones set amid impeccably landscaped grounds. This program includes the opportunity to visit three UNESCO world heritage sites: the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the ancient city of Fatehpur Sikri; all of which are legacies from Mughal times.

Special Note: Any guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC) or CPAP breathing machines should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    DAY 1

After disembarkation from the ship in Cochin, you will proceed to the airport for your flight to Delhi.

Upon arrival at the Cochin airport, you will receive boarding passes and proceed through security. Your bags will be transported to the airport in a separate truck for an advance check-in. Dinner will be served on the flight.

On arrival in Delhi, transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Soup and finger sandwiches are served prior to retiring for the evening.

    DAY 2

After breakfast, check out and drive to Agra via the new Yamuna Expressway with vistas of India’s vast rural farming countryside.

Agra, the city of Taj Mahal was one of the grand cities of South Asia. With the arrival of the Mughals in 1526 led by Babur, Agra entered a completely new era during the reign of emperors Akbar, Jehangir and Shah Jahan. Akbar made it a great center for learning, art, commerce and culture. Its cosmopolitan bazaars and its strategic location on the river Jamuna, was altogether a worthier setting for the focus of an empire.

Upon arrival in Agra check-in to your hotel. Oberoi Amarvilas is voted as one of the top three hotels of the world. Its classical architecture is complemented by elaborate Mughul gardens, terraced lawns, fountains, reflection pools and pavilions and every room has a frontal view of the Taj Mahal.

After lunch visit Agra Fort, a World Heritage Site credited to Emperor Akbar, India’s great visionary. His sons and theirs added to this imposing structure situated by the banks of the Yamuna River. The astonishing palaces, mosques and audience halls contained within its massive walls of red sandstone became once more a monumental mission of the Mughal Empire embellished by the artistic fusion of Islamic and Hindu tradition.

Back at your hotel, and after some time to freshen up, enjoy the classical dance form of Kathak in the ballroom. A buffet dinner follows the dance performance.

    Day 3

Enjoy tea, coffee, juices and rolls in the lobby before departing for the Taj Mahal. With its incredible lacy white grandeur, it is perhaps the most perfect architectural monument in the world. In memory of his wife, the great Mughal emperor Shah Jehan planned this most extravagant and incomparable monument built for love. Although amazingly graceful from any angle, it is the close-up detail, which is really astounding.

Return to your hotel for breakfast.

    Morning option following breakfast:

•Drive an hour into the Indian countryside to visit Fatehpur Sikri, the red sandstone former capital of the Mughal empire. The city lived between A.D. 1571 up to 1585 and then became a ghost town, abandoned, possibly due to complexities with the water systems.

•Visit the Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah in the old city, the first Mughal structure pioneering the extensive use

of `pietra dura’, the inlay work of marble, so characteristic of the Taj Mahal. This mausoleum is small and squat when compared to the Taj, but the more human scale has its own attraction, and the skillfully patterned surface of the tomb is exquisite.

    Afternoon Options following lunch:

•Visit the Tomb of Itmad-Ud-Daulah as described above

•At the hotel, Agra’s leading astrologer will be available for consultation. Appointments for an analysis of your personal horoscope can be made at the Regent Seven Seas Hospitality desk

•Take a look at some of Agra’s famous shopping …. Kohinoor, erstwhile jewelers to the Mughal court, featured in National Geographic. Old emerald necklaces, enamel, jewelry, silver, pocket watches in Gold and silver, textiles and embroidery form part of their private collection. The Marble Inlay factories steeped in this decorative art culture are also a specialty of Agra.

Later in the day revisit the Taj Mahal at sunset where the monument appears to change its hue, tinted by the glow of the setting sun.

Dinner will be served back at your hotel

    Day 4

Early this morning, return to Delhi for a flight to Mumbai. Tea, coffee, juices and rolls will be served in the lobby prior to departure.

At the airport, collect boarding passes and proceed through security and then onto the plane for the flight to Mumbai. A packed lunch is served at the airport and snacks are served on the flight.

  • Gain an extraordinary perspective of the gorgeous Pink City of Jaipur through its architectural highlights and observe iconic wildlife such as Bengal tigers on game drives in a national park.

Special Note: Guests travelling with Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC), CPAP breathing machines or scooters should read further below for airline stipulations with regards to bringing this equipment on tour.

    Day 1

After disembarking the ship in Cochin and attending to immigration and customs formalities, you will proceed to the airport. Baggage is transported in a separate van to the airport for pre-check-in.

On arrival, receive boarding passes and pass through security before boarding a flight to Jaipur via Hyderabad. Refreshments and dinner will be served aloft.

Jaipur is the capital of the desert-like state of Rajasthan, a land rich in legends of romance, chivalry, sacrifice, and heroic deeds.

You will spend the night at the Jai Mahal Palace, the former residence of the Prime Minister. Its graceful architecture is uniquely Rajput, with cupolas, minarets, and arched doorways. Open-air verandahs spill out onto lovely grounds where peacocks strut.

    Day 2

Following breakfast, explore the Pink City, where an enduring charisma of the past blends with the throbbing vitality of today. The scholar and astronomer Jai Singh founded Jaipur centuries ago, and it is considered India’s first planned city. It is often called the Pink City for the predominant color of its buildings.

Continuing to old Jaipur, you will visit the Hawa Mahal or the Palace of Winds, a fine example of Rajput artistry. It is constructed of red and pink sandstone, beautifully outlined with white borders and motifs painted with quick lime.

You will then head toward the City Palace, a sprawling structure surrounded by a high wall. The royal family lives in a portion of the palace. Other areas have been converted into museums displaying textiles, costumes, paintings, and carpets.

Across from the palace, you will find the open-air royal observatory Jantar Mantar, an esteemed World Heritage site. Jai Singh ordered its construction in the 18th century. It contains the world’s largest stone sundial, among other astronomical instruments.

As a traditional center of commerce, Jaipur has a variety of attractions, many best explored individually. Bustling bazaars are laden with souvenirs, carpets, world famous gems and jewelry, the specialty being traditional hand block printed fabric, antique textiles, and handicrafts.

After lunch, take a 3 ½ hour drive through the countryside to the famous tiger sanctuary at Ranthambore.

Check-in to the Vanyavilas, designed as a `Jungle Camp’ and lies adjacent to the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. The resort is set in nineteen acres with an emphasis on maintaining the natural environment with well-established trees, flora, and a large water body. There’s an orchard of lemon, guava, and mango trees, along with a viewing tower facing the sanctuary.

Your accommodation will be in a spacious luxury tent with a beautifully appointed interior and a private deck.

Dinner and overnight at Oberoi Vanyavilas.

    Day 3

Coffee, tea, and rolls are served at dawn before proceeding on a drive through the park in a Jeep or canter safari vehicle with expert naturalists. They will point out and describe the great diversity of birds, mammals, and major predators.

The deep gorges of Ranthambore serve as hideouts for animals such as leopards, tigers and sloth bears. The forest also provides a natural habitat for spotted deer and sambar, the largest Asiatic deer. Woodland, ground and water birds are plentiful, including red junglefowl. Although Ranthambore was once a hunting ground for Bengal tigers, it has become a research and conservation area for these magnificent animals, especially in the last decade or so.

The 10th-century Ranthambore Fort that overlooks the reserve is so historically important that UNESCO deemed it a World Heritage site. You may notice various animals resting on its ancient ramparts.

Return to the resort for breakfast and a morning at leisure.

You may choose to visit Dastkar, an extraordinary center for crafts, the majority of them created by women as their sole means of income. The bazaar at Dastkar helps the local villagers become self-reliant, as the craftspeople sell their products independent of a commercial middleman. You will view them creating a huge variety of traditional items by hand.

Later in the afternoon, you will enjoy a second game drive, exploring yet another area of the national park with a naturalist guide.

Return to the resort at dusk.

Lunch, dinner, and overnight at the Oberoi Vanyavilas.

    Day 4

After an early breakfast and check-out from the hotel, you will drive to the airport for a flight to Mumbai. A packed lunch will be served at the Jaipur airport and refreshments served aloft.

Upon arrival in Mumbai, you are met and transferred to the port to re-embark the ship.

Baggage is transported in a separate van to the pier.
