Land Programs & Hotels

  • Step ashore for an extraordinary overland journey into the heart of ancient Cambodia, where sacred rituals, jungle-enshrouded temples and golden-hour moments reveal the enduring grandeur of the Khmer Empire. From the soaring towers of Angkor Wat to a tranquil gondola glide along the moat of Angkor Thom, this immersive escape blends history, spirituality and refined cultural discovery in one of Southeast Asia’s most captivating destinations.

    Please Note:

-There is extensive walking over uneven ground at the temple sites - at times up to 2 km, with steps at Bayon and Angkor Wat. This tour is not suitable for guests with walking difficulty or if confined to a wheelchair. It can also be very hot and humid there.

-All travelers must now complete Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) within 3 days of before arrival to Singapore https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/sgarrivalcard/

-All travelers must now complete a Thailand Digital Arrival Card, within 3 days of arriving in Thailand including the date of arrival at https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home

-All travelers (Tourists, Expats and Cambodians) are now required to submit the Cambodia e-Arrival Card within 7 days before their arrival via a mobile app or at https://arrival.gov.kh/

    Day 1 – Sunday, March 26, 2028

After disembarking the ship in Singapore, identify your luggage and transfer to Singapore Airport for a flight to Siem Reap, accompanied by a representative from our local ground agency.

Upon arrival in Siem Reap, you will be welcomed and assisted with your Cambodian entry visa before continuing to secure your temple pass. From there, transfer to your hotel and settle in for the beginning of your Angkor adventure.

The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy at leisure, with dinner on your own.

    DAY 2 – Monday, March 27, 2028

After breakfast, begin the day with a meaningful Cambodian tradition: a holy water blessing performed by Buddhist monks at a local pagoda. As sacred chants fill the air, the monks lightly sprinkle holy water to invite good fortune, happiness and prosperity, then tie a red string around your wrist to complete the ritual.

Your exploration then continues in the company of an expert Khmer archeologist, offering rare insight into the ancient capital of Angkor Thom. Enter through the monumental South Gate, where stone gods and demons line the approach to this once-mighty royal city.

Within the ancient city walls, encounter the serene stone faces of Bayon Temple, a 12th-century masterpiece commissioned by King Jayavarman VII.

Continue to Baphuon, Phimeanakas Temple, the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, each revealing another chapter of Angkor’s royal and ceremonial past.

Continue to atmospheric Ta Prohm, where ancient stonework is dramatically entwined with the roots of towering strangler figs and kapok trees. Beloved by photographers, this evocative temple appears almost suspended between architecture and jungle, with every corner offering a striking glimpse of nature reclaiming history.

Following lunch at a local restaurant, travel to Banteay Srei, the exquisite rose-hued temple known as the “Citadel of Women.” Celebrated for its delicate pink sandstone and exceptionally preserved carvings, this 10th-century sanctuary is considered one of the finest expressions of classical Khmer artistry.

As evening approaches, enjoy a serene gondola ride along the moat of Angkor Thom. Board your traditional Khmer vessel near the South Gate and drift through the tranquil twilight while sipping wine and enjoying canapés.

If you wish, pause for a short walk to Prasat Chrung, where magical views unfold as the ancient city glows in the fading light. Return to your hotel for a little time to unwind before dinner at the hotel.

    Day 3 – Tuesday, March 28, 2028

This morning is devoted to Angkor Wat, the crown jewel of the Khmer Empire and one of the world’s most iconic sacred landmarks. As you explore this UNESCO-listed masterpiece, admire its graceful towers, vast galleries and extraordinary bas-reliefs, which unfold along the outer walls in a continuous narrative of Hindu mythology.

After your visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Satcha, a Cambodian handicraft social enterprise dedicated to supporting local artisans through education and financial opportunity. Here, contemporary design meets traditional Khmer craftsmanship, resulting in beautifully made pieces that celebrate Cambodia’s cultural heritage while fostering sustainable social and economic impact.

Continue to Phsar Chas, the Old Market, where textiles, handicrafts, statues and curios offer a colorful window into Cambodian artistry and daily life. Afterwards, return to the hotel with time to freshen up before the evening’s special dinner experience.

This evening, enjoy an unforgettable dinner amid the ancient landscape of Angkor with rare after-dark access to the grounds of a historic temple. Follow a torchlit path into the atmospheric venue, where the sound of Khmer drums, traditional music and graceful dance performances create a memorable celebration of Cambodia’s storied past.

    DAY 4 – Wednesday, March 29, 2028

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before checking out and transferring to Siem Reap Airport for your flight to Bangkok. Upon arrival, proceed through Customs and Immigration, where you will be met for the transfer to Laem Chabang Port and your awaiting ship.

Unfortunately, we are unable to make changes to menus on the day of the meal, so advance notice is essential

    Expected Weather:

Hot! The average midday temperatures can hover to upper 30s C (85-90 F), especially in inland areas like Siem Reap. It is important to stay hydrated each day.

    What to Bring:

On this tour the key words are comfortable and casual. Local dress codes should be observed.

*Please avoid uncovered shoulders, shorts or revealing clothing.

*Full length trousers or pants and/or skirts covering the knees are required to be worn when visiting Angkor Wat

Bring a hat or a head covering for sun protection and don’t forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, and bug spray (you should have mosquito repellent for sunrise and sunset hours). It’s also a good idea to bring along a small packet of tissues or wet wipes. It is also suggested that guests wear flat comfortable walking shoes (not sandals or open-toed shoes / flip flops). Guests are requested to take off their footwear and hats when visiting religious sites.

    Local Currency:

Guests are encouraged to bring US Dollars with them as they are most commonly accepted in Cambodia. The local currency is the Cambodian Riel. You should take smaller denominations of US Dollars with you, as they will keep you from ending up with a lot of local change that you will not be able to re-exchange back home.

    Electricity: 220 V

Rooms are equipped with 220-volt, two-pin US style electrical outlets. We recommend travelling with your own adaptor should you have electronic devices.

3.CPAP Machine to be used during flight – same as above + a doctor’s note is required mentioning the need to use the machine during flight.

*Guests are required to bring with them any details from the manufacturer regarding the CPAP specifications. While most modern CPAP machines are FAA-approved for in-flight use, having a copy of your manufacturer’s FAA-approval status will help to quickly clear any confusion that may arise.

    * Not providing the above details in a timely manner may result in a denial of this equipment at the airport for which Regent Seven Seas Cruises nor our local ground operator will be responsible for.

*Some hotels do not provide distilled water. While we can certainly request this for you, we cannot guarantee that it will be available. If received in a timely manner, at least 95 days before sailing, requests will be sent on the final manifest that our ground operators and hotels receive. We highly recommend packing your own supply, especially on programs that travel to more remote locations in order to avoid not having it. Please keep in mind the rule for liquids in carry-on bags. • Discover the breathtaking beauty of New Zealand’s South Island on this two-day scenic adventure from Timaru to Dunedin. Journey through majestic alpine landscapes to Aoraki / Mt Cook, where you’ll cruise among glittering glacier icebergs and dine with panoramic mountain views. The following day, travel south to explore Oamaru’s charming Victorian precinct and visit the mysterious Moeraki Boulders scattered along the coast before arriving in Dunedin. This program showcases some of New Zealand’s most spectacular natural and cultural highlights.

    Notes:

•This program includes extended scenic coach travel

•For the Glacier Explorer Tour guests must be able to walk 1.5 km (.9 miles) to and from the lake edge within approximately 25 minutes.

    DAY 1

Step ashore in Timaru and begin a scenic journey inland through the breathtaking Mackenzie Basin, where rolling farmland meets expansive glacial valleys. The turquoise waters of Lake Tekapo soon come into view, shimmering against a backdrop of rugged mountains. Pause at the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd, a quaint stone chapel perched at the lake’s edge, perfect for photographs that capture the serenity and majesty of this landscape. Savor a relaxed lunch at a local café, taking in sweeping alpine vistas that stretch as far as the eye can see.

Continue your journey south along the glittering shores of Lake Pukaki, where the mighty Aoraki / Mt Cook rises dramatically at the head of the valley. Stop along the way to absorb the panoramic vistas and capture the perfect moment of this awe-inspiring scenery. Arrive at The Hermitage Hotel, nestled in the heart of the national park, your base for exploring the Southern Alps.

In the afternoon, embark on the unforgettable Glacier Explorers experience. Cruise across the Tasman Glacier Terminal Lake, navigating between towering icebergs and marveling at the deep blues and brilliant whites of centuries-old glacial ice. Your expert guide will bring the landscape to life, sharing insights into the region’s geology, glacial history, and ever-changing environment.

Note: For the Glacier Explorer Tour guests must be able to walk 1.5 km (.9 miles) to and then from the lake edge within approximately 25 minutes each way. Wear an extra layer of warm clothing/wet weather gear and suitable walking shoes. Also bring sunglasses and sunblock and your camera. Boats used are expedition-type speedboats, uncovered.

After returning to your hotel, enjoy a delicious dinner with panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. Cap off your day with a captivating indoor stargazing experience at the Hermitage’s planetarium, where the Southern Hemisphere’s brilliant night sky is brought to life, revealing constellations, planets, and the Milky Way above the dramatic alpine landscape.

    DAY 2

Following breakfast in the Alpine Restaurant, set off from Mt Cook and travel south through sweeping high-country landscapes, passing braided rivers, dramatic valleys, and rugged mountain peaks.

Your journey leads to Oamaru, a charming coastal town known for its beautifully preserved Victorian precinct. Wander streets lined with limestone buildings, browse boutique galleries, and explore artisan shops, stepping back into New Zealand’s colonial past.

Enjoy a leisurely lunch with waterfront views in this historic town before continuing to the windswept sands of Moeraki Beach, home to the world-famous giant spherical boulders. These mysterious formations, scattered across the shoreline like marbles, are steeped in Maori legend, offering a striking and unforgettable photo opportunity.

Your journey concludes with a panoramic tour of Dunedin, a city of grand Edwardian architecture, vibrant cultural life, and historic charm. Take in highlights of the city centre before returning to Port Chalmers to rejoin your ship, carrying with you lasting memories of glaciers, alpine lakes, and the rugged beauty of New Zealand’s South Island coastline.

    Weather:

New Zealand’s seasons are the reverse of those in the Northern Hemisphere. This means that the warmest months are December, January and February, while the coldest are June, July and August.

The mean daily temperature in January is 19 degrees Celsius (66 degrees Fahrenheit).

The mean daily temperature in February is 23 degrees Celsius (74 degrees Fahrenheit).

The sun sets around 9:00pm at this time of the year

    What to Bring:

As it will be summer, lighter clothing is suggested. Also, bring sunscreen as well as a waterproof jacket in case of rain. Dress is informal and relaxed. Smart casual clothes are acceptable at most restaurants and nightspots.

    Local Currency:

New Zealand Dollars. US dollars are generally accepted only in establishments such as souvenir shops. However, credit cards are widely accepted. For small purchases, it is strongly suggested that local currency be used. All major credit cards can be used in New Zealand.

    Electricity:

Electricity is supplied throughout New Zealand at 230/240 volts, 50 hertz. Most hotels and motels provide 110- volt AC sockets (rated at 20 watts) for electric razors only. Power outlets only accept angled two- or three-pin plugs (as also used in Australia) depending on whether an earth connection is fitted. For this reason, we recommend bringing a universal travel adaptor for electric devices.

One overnight bag per person and a personal item

A passport that is valid at least 6 months after travel is required. Please bring it with you on this overland tour.
